Homeowner Halloween Safety

With Halloween coming up next week, it’s a good time to prepare your property for trick-or-treaters. Remember, you are responsible for the safety of your property and can be held liable for any accidents.

Keep walkways and paths clear of debris. Avoid tripping hazards by providing clear, well-lit walkways.

Make sure decorations are well secured. Yard decorations should always be stable and not easily tipped over. Double check the security of all items hanging from trees.

Remove potential hazards on your property. Trick-or-treaters often cut through yards and alleyways. Be sure your yard is free of trip-and-fall hazards.

Inspect your property for uneven steps and loose railings.

Restrain excitable pets or bring them inside.
