Here are some recent positive signs for homebuyers and sellers:
- The National Association of Realtors’ Pending Home Sales Index rose 3.1 percent in February.
- Privately owned housing starts increased 1.9 percent in March and were 10.9 percent above the March 2017 rate, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
- According to the National Association of Realtors’ 2018 Housing Opportunities and Market Experience (HOME) survey, in the first quarter of 2018, 68 percent of people said that now is a good time to buy a home.
- The net share of survey respondents who said now is a good time to buy rose 10 percentage points in March month over month and is now at 32 percent, according to Fannie Mae’s Home Purchase Sentiment Index.
