November 12 and 13 8AM – 4PM
Bernards Township has taken the following action to aid residents in the vegetative debris cleanup efforts:
- The Pill Hill facility hours have been extended once again Saturday and Sunday, November 12 & 13 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. No punch cards are necessary for dropping off vegetative debris that came down during the recent storm. Please bring proof of residency.
- DPW crews will be working extended hours this weekend so as to continue the cleanup efforts, man Pill Hill Facility, and consolidate the brush for trucking.
- Two private contractors have been retained to help with the street brush pickup, hazardous limb removal and chipping efforts.
- Our limited staff has all available personnel out clearing debris from roads and sidewalks. We also have personnel grinding the vegetative debris so we can haul to a facility, thereby making room at Pill Hill for additional brush delivery.
- DPW crews have been instructed to remove branch debris from RIGHT-OF-WAY (ROW) trees only. Please be patient – DPW and/or contracted crews will be coming through on this cleanup of Township roads.
Somerset County Roads located in Bernards Township:
- The County of Somerset has indicated they will be sending crews into the many miles of county roads located in Bernards Township. They will be picking up debris from the roadside ROW, and will not pick-up any debris dumped, dragged, or place there. They have not yet set a timetable to accomplish this.
