Bernards Township Community Events – Things to do in December, 2023

December 16th – Liberty Corner

Please note this one requires some pre-planning: Santa Claus is Coming to Town – on a firetruck. For a requested $60 Donation, Santa Claus (or a firefighter in lieu of Santa Claus) will arrive at your home on a fire truck to deliver a holiday gift (which you provide), to your child(ren). The fire truck will arrive at your home with its lights and sirens activated. Each child is encouraged to come to the fire truck to receive his/her gift. If you are unsure if we serve your address, please find your street name on this list here. If still unsure, send in a registration and we will contact you if there’s an issue.

December 16th – Basking Ridge

Please note this one requires some pre-planning: Santa Claus is Coming to Town – on a firetruck!! You may not know, but both township fire departments are 100% volunteer. They are responsible for raising the majority of their own funds. Santa knows this! And each year, he does his best to help raise money for the fire department by hitching a ride on a fire truck and delivering holiday gifts to children’s homes.

December 16th – Ross Farm

Cookies and Cocoa with Santa Claus. This free event is open between 11:00 and 4:00. Take pictures with Santa and friends in and around the historic barn! Don’t forget to bring your letters to Santa!

December 7, 11, 12 and 14

Be sure not to miss the newest menorah at the Allen Street Gazebo in the Village of Basking Ridge! Lightings are as follows: Dec. 7, 9, 12, and 14 – each night hosted by a different local synagogue (Congregation B’nai Israel, Chabad of Somerset County, Temple Sholom, and Temple Har Shalom). Also, did someone say gelt from a firetruck – an RSVP is required for this magical event hosted by the Chabad of Somerset County, with a visit from the Liberty Corner Fire Company.

December 5, 11, 13, 18 and 19

Ridge High School A Cappella Choir will visit various locations to bring joy to the world as they sing the holiday classics. Catch them on December 4 – at 7:00PM – at Saint James Church, on South Finley Ave or on December 5 – at 7:00PM – at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church also on South Finley Ave or on. Attending the BOE meetings? They will be performing at the meeting on December 18. Or if you need a daytime concert – you can see them at the Bernards Township Public Library at 1:00 on December 13th.

December 19th at 7:00pm

For one night only, come hear all six Ridge High School choral groups perform their best holiday pieces at the Winter Concert in the Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. There are no tickets, the event is free, and all are welcome – especially alumni!

Nightly from 5 – 10PM

(Weather Permitting). Christmas in Warren: The display is at 80 Briarwood Dr E in Warren. The best approach to see the lights is to come down Briarwood Dr W and park facing the lights. Remember to turn your headlights off and leave your parking lights on. When you are in front of the house, tune to 92.7FM on your car radio to listen to the music that the lights dance to!

December 7

Santa’s Workshop: Kick off your season with some holiday CHEER, The Ridge Competition Cheer Team is excited to welcome you to this fun event with lots of holiday “CHEER”! Each child will get to meet with Santa, have some cocoa and cookies, work on a little holiday craft, and receive a special gift from Santa. We will also have special mailbox for the North Pole, so please bring your letters to Santa. Additionally, proceeds from this event will benefit the RHS Competition Cheer Team as they fundraise their way to the UCA Nationals in February 2024!  Go Ridge!

December 13

Town Celebration: Honoring the 100th Basking Ridge Christmas Eve Sing & All The Volunteers. Join the community with friends, neighbors, volunteers for a holiday celebration of what will be the 100th running of the Basking Ridge Christmas Eve Sing on the Green. The special gathering will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 7-9pm as we honor all those who have made this year’s 100th edition of the Basking Ridge Christmas Eve Sing on the Green possible. Please note that an RSVP and a $10 donation is required for this event.

December 24 – 7:00PM

The 100th Annual Bernards Township Community Caroling. The town of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, welcomes its 100th annual Christmas Eve Sing on The Town Green at 7pm on Dec. 24, 2023. The town’s residents, friends, and guests gather to sing traditional carols and celebrate local history, documented by the Mr. Local History Project.
